Why I'm Running

I am running for Mayor because Rocky Hill needs leadership that listens carefully and turns community concerns into concrete results.

Our town remains a wonderful place to live, yet many neighbors tell me it is getting harder to stay. Young adults want to move out on their own but find the cost of housing out of reach, sending them elsewhere.  Seniors hope to downsize yet discover few local options.

Families and small business owners say they need stronger support and a simpler path to success. Doing business in Rocky Hill should never feel like an obstacle course.
I want to help build a future where Rocky Hill is affordable, accountable, and truly open for business. We can welcome new opportunities while protecting the qualities that make our town special today. Achieving this vision will require thoughtful housing policies, transparent leadership, and a proactive approach to strengthening our community.
Service runs in my family. My mother spent her career teaching in public schools, and my father became a pastor after working in insurance and real estate. They taught me that public service begins with empathy and ends with action. I carry those values into my real‑estate work, my nonprofit initiatives, and every role I hold in town government.
For several years I have contributed ideas, feedback, and a fresh perspective from the sidelines. Now I am ready to step forward. If we want meaningful change, we need new leadership committed to building a Rocky Hill that works for everyone.
If you are ready for a fresh start and a new generation of leadership, I invite you to join this campaign. Every voice is welcome.

Meet Allan Smith

Allan Smith has devoted the past ten years to strengthening Rocky Hill, the town he and his wife, Arianna, chose after moving from his native Maine. They first rented, then bought a home on Old Main Street, drawn in by the town’s location and affordability and kept here by the close‑knit community that makes Rocky Hill special.

As a full‑time Realtor, Allan relies on a professional background that spans marketing, entrepreneurship, and management. He helps neighbors navigate life‑changing choices: where to put down roots, how to invest wisely, and how to build a secure future. That practical, people‑centered outlook shapes his goal of making local government more responsive, inclusive, and forward‑thinking.

Service is at the core of Allan’s life. He chaired a statewide nonprofit that provides energy assistance to families, and he founded Rocky Hill Arts Now, which promotes public art and cultural engagement in town. Locally he serves on the Economic Development Commission, the Zoning Board of Appeals, and the Affordable Housing Commission. Regionally he is a Director on multiple Realtor boards and an active committee member with the local Chamber of Commerce.

Allan prepared for public office by earning the Certified Connecticut Municipal Official designation from the Connecticut Council of Municipalities. His work has earned the backing of Democratic Municipal Officials and support from a growing list of state and local leaders.

When the workday ends, Allan enjoys motorsports, catching new movies or live comedy, and traveling—often to the Dominican Republic, Arianna’s home country. He now asks for your support as he seeks to lead Rocky Hill with the same energy, expertise, and neighborly spirit he brings to every part of his life.
